There goes the 7:20
Flashing by at great pace
Stacked with venison a-plenty
Halibut, sturgeon and dace.
It’s carrying 1,000 people
From every walk of life
Carpenters, merchantmen, bankers
Tom Trellis, MacDuff and his wife.
A cigar tube draped in white linen
A steward, shop-soiled in cream
Serving up musical madoc
With three half-slices of bream.
There’s no other way to travel
There’s no other way to dine
I simply don’t care what the bill is
The claret’s exceedingly fine.
